Update

Well, we just got an update on little James with measurements, sizes, what formula he's on, etc. He truly is a Linam. Tall and skinny! He's greater than 95% in height at 28.7 inches, 50% for weight at 18 pounds. So looks like he will follow in the footsteps of his big brother Drew and need a belt for all his pants!!

I also wanted to ask everyone who reads this to think about something. Ethiopia is experiencing a severe infant formula shortage. Due to the downturn in the global economy, the Ethiopian birr (their currency) has significantly lost value. Most trading for things like formula, diapers, etc. is done with the Middle East, but with the loss of value of the Birr, trading is almost zero at this time. Can you imagine trying to care for infants without any formula? That is what many orphanages in Ethiopia are facing right now.

Thankfully, the director of Hannah's Hope, our orphanage, has many connections and a steady supply of American dollars, so our children are not in any acute danger. However, the orphanages that our agency has a relationship are not as lucky. Many of the infants in Hannah's Hope begin their lives in these other orphanages.

Our goal is to take AT LEAST 50 pounds of formula with us when we travel. If each family in our group takes that much, that will be over 200 pounds of formula!! This formula will go to the infants at Hannah's Hope as well as other orphanages in the community of Addis Ababa. Would you please consider helping to save a life by donating a can of powdered infant formula? You can mail it to us, or send us money to purchase a can to take with us. Thanks!!
